Ascendant Calm
Hypnotherapy for Anxiety, Overthinking & Nervous System Overwhelm
If you’re here, you’re likely carrying more than your system was built to hold.
Anxiety, racing thoughts, tightened breath, restless nights… the sense that you can’t quite relax into yourself no matter how hard you try.
You’re not alone. And you’re not stuck this way.
With the right support, your nervous system can soften, expand, and trust again.
Are you feeling...
-
unsafe in your body?
-
noticing every heartbeat, breath, sensation?
-
racing thoughts that keep you awake, alert, vigilant?
-
persistent worries about something happening to your or your people?
-
health worries?
-
shame for not being able to just "shake it off"?
-
like you need numbing distractions (food, alcohol, drugs, scrolling, shopping, gambling, etc)?
You're not broken.
Your system is overwhelmed...
and there's a way back to yourself.

Why you can't "think" your way out of anxiety
Most traditional approaches focus on “thinking differently.”
But anxiety doesn’t live in your thinking mind. It lives in your nervous system and subconscious patterns.
When you’ve spent years, or decades, in survival mode, the system develops a simple equation:
Change = danger
Staying the same = survival
Even if staying the same means:
-
tension
-
pain
-
insomnia
-
overthinking
-
emotional overwhelm
-
feeling small
-
feeling stuck
Your protectors (anxiety, overthinking, hyper-vigilance, avoidance,
people-pleasing, perfectionism, etc) are not trying to ruin your life.
They’re trying to save you.
They are just stuck in the past, working with outdated information. We need to bring them into the present moment and introduce them to the resources, support and solutions available now.

I understand anxiety
Not only as a hypnotherapist, but as someone who has lived it

For a long time, I didn’t realize what I was experiencing was anxiety.
I just felt like:
-
my heart would race then skip beats
-
my body felt unsafe
-
my mind raced
-
I couldn’t relax
-
I couldn’t sleep
-
I couldn’t trust my own body
I tried everything: tapping, supplements, grounding, eating clean, cutting alcohol, meditation, journaling, stretching, removing stressors, talk therapy, and they all helped… a little.
But it wasn’t until I understood what my nervous system was doing that everything changed.
My system wasn’t malfunctioning. It was doing exactly what it's designed to do by keeping me safe and alive, but it was doing so by over-protecting me from expanding into the life I desperately wanted:
-
going back to school
-
becoming a hypnotherapist
-
writing novels
-
starting my business
-
making myself visible, sharing my voice, taking up space
These were dreams I loved and deeply wanted, but they terrified my nervous system because expansion, stepping outside my comfort zone, and being seen and heard made me a target for rejection, failure and death (according to my nervous system).
My heart flutters, skipped beats, and adrenaline spikes weren’t warning signs of actual physical danger.
They were signs of growth my system didn’t believe it could handle.
It took time, safety, and capacity-building to shift into a life where I feel grounded, calm, open, and able to hold the expansion that once felt impossible.
And now, this is the work I help others do.
How Hypnotherapy Helps the Anxious Mind & Body

Hypnotherapy works by guiding you into a natural, relaxed state called trance. In this state, your conscious mind - the part that analyzes, worries, and spins - becomes quieter, while your subconscious becomes more open and receptive.
Through gentle breathing, guided imagery, and focused attention, your system shifts into a deeply calm state. It’s not sleep, and you remain aware and in control the entire time. It’s a cooperative, safe state where your deeper mind can finally speak and listen without resistance.
In this space, we can begin to:
-
soften old emotional associations
-
ease protective patterns like hyper-vigilance or overthinking
-
create new pathways that support calm, confidence, and clarity
Because hypnotherapy works directly with the subconscious and the nervous system, it allows the body to learn how to move into ease, not through force, but through experience.
Over time, this creates real, lasting change: the mind quiets, the body relaxes, and anxiety begins to lose its grip.
My Approach:
Gentle Capacity-Building
Before we make any changes, before we ask your system to let go of coping patterns, before we imagine a new version of you… we create capacity.
That means:
✨ more felt safety
✨ deeper ability to breathe
✨ less tension
✨ more space inside your body
✨ more ability to imagine something better
This is the foundation of all transformation.
Inside hypnotherapy, we work with the subconscious and the body, the only places where anxiety actually lives.
Together we will:

1
Create an Inner Sanctuary
A safe inner space becomes the foundation for all healing. Here, your nervous system learns that it’s allowed to settle, even if only 1%. This sanctuary gives you a place to return to whenever life feels overwhelming, helping you reconnect with calm, clarity, and a sense of inner groundedness.
2
Create Micro Moments of Ease
Big change begins with tiny opportunities. Through breath, imagery, and gentle nervous-system techniques, we practice small, repeatable shifts — the kind that help your body learn, “I can soften… just a little.” These micro-moments gradually build capacity, making calm feel possible again.
3
Meet Your Protectors
Your anxiety, overthinking, tension, or shutdown responses aren’t failures — they’re protectors. We meet them with curiosity instead of force. By understanding what these parts of you have been trying to prevent or protect, we help them soften into new roles that support your healing instead of blocking it.
4
Work With Your Body, Not Against It
You can’t outthink a dysregulated nervous system. Together, we help your body experience safety from the inside out — through breath, grounding, imagery, and subtle somatic cues that invite release rather than demand it. When the body feels supported, the mind can finally rest.
5
Hypnotic Metaphor & Subconscious Work
The subconscious speaks in images, sensations, and symbols, not logic. Using hypnotic metaphor and gentle trance states, we help your deeper mind rewrite outdated patterns, soften defenses, and create new associations with safety, strength, and possibility. This is where real transformation begins to root.
6
Identity Shift
As your system builds capacity, a new version of you becomes possible. We explore and strengthen the identity of the calmer, clearer, more grounded you. Not by forcing change, but by allowing your mind and body to gradually align with who you’re becoming. This is the step where healing becomes self-sustaining.

Noticing some hesitation coming up?
That's the anxiety patterning
When you’ve lived with anxiety for a long time, your system becomes wired to resist anything unfamiliar — even support.
So if you feel a little tightening in your chest, a voice saying “maybe later,” or a wave of doubt right now, that doesn’t mean this isn’t right for you.
It means your protectors have arrived.
They’re trying to keep you in what’s familiar, because familiar feels safe — even when it’s uncomfortable.
But if you’re reading this, there’s a deeper part of you that wants relief, wants calm, wants change.
You don’t have to be completely ready.
You just have to take the next step that feels doable.
Is this right for you?
Ascendant Calm is for you if:
-
You’ve been anxious for so long you can’t remember what “normal” feels like.
-
You’re tired of managing symptoms and want real internal change.
-
You can feel you’re meant for more, but your nervous system keeps shutting you down.
-
You’re willing to go slowly, gently, and with curiosity — not force.
-
You want support from someone who doesn’t rush you, but knows how to guide change.
Ascendant Calm is not for you if:
-
You want a “quick fix” or a one-session miracle.
-
You’re not willing to explore the internal landscape of your body and subconscious.

Questions?
What does hypnosis feel like? Will I lose control? Not at all. Most people describe hypnosis as a deeply relaxed, inward-focused state — similar to daydreaming or being absorbed in a good book. You stay fully aware, you hear everything I say, and you can speak, move, or open your eyes at any time. Hypnotherapy gives you more control, not less — more control over your thoughts, emotions, and responses. You are always in charge.
Will I have to re-live or talk about my trauma? No. This work is fully trauma-informed, and you never need to revisit painful memories. We work in a dissociated, safe, supported way — meaning you can observe patterns without being pulled back into them. Your nervous system is never pushed beyond what it can hold. Safety comes first — always.
I'm afraid of being vulnerable. What if I shut down or can't talk? You don’t need to talk a lot for this work to be effective. Many anxious clients find that their body tells the story before their words do, and that’s enough for me to guide the session. If you freeze, go quiet, or need a moment — that’s okay. I know how to support your system without rushing or overwhelming it.
What if I get emotional during a session? Emotion is simply energy releasing, not a sign something is wrong. If tears or emotions arise, they are welcomed gently and held with care. I support you in staying grounded, safe, and resourced, never overwhelmed.
How is this different from regular hypnotherapy? Ascendant Calm is a capacity-first model. Instead of diving straight into rewiring fears or changing behaviours, we begin by stabilizing your system so it feels safe enough to shift. This means: No forcing No pushing No scripts that overwhelm you No going faster than your body can follow We build a foundation of safety → clarity → capacity → transformation.
How do the audio resources help? You’ll receive personalized audios tailored to where your system is in the process. These help: deepen calm reinforce safety strengthen new patterns support your system between sessions They act like gentle anchors, teaching your nervous system what calmer states feel like, so they become easier to access.
Can I do this virtually? Does it work? Absolutely. Hypnosis does not require physical proximity. It requires presence, safety, and attunement. Some clients prefer virtual sessions because they can relax in their own home, while others prefer to come into the office to ensure a quiet, distraction-free space.
I have anxiety — what if I can’t relax or “go into trance”? This is one of the most common fears. Good news: you don’t need to feel relaxed to benefit. Hypnosis is not about forcing your body to calm down — it’s about helping your nervous system shift gently into a state where change becomes possible. Even if your mind feels busy, even if your thoughts are racing, the work still happens. Your system will meet the process exactly where it is.
What if something comes up that I'm not ready for? We work gently and collaboratively. If anything feels too big, we slow down, resource, anchor safety, and approach it from a distance. Your pace sets the pace. You are never expected to “push through,” and we only move into deeper work when your system has the capacity.
How long are the sessions? Will 75 minutes feel too long for me? Most anxious clients are surprised at how quickly the time passes. In trance, your perception of time shifts — sessions often feel like 20–30 minutes. You won’t be “performing” or talking nonstop. Much of the session is guided inner work where your system is relaxed, supported, and not under pressure.
Do I need to know what I want to change before starting? No. Many clients come in feeling confused or stuck. That’s part of the anxiety pattern. Early sessions help you get clear on: what you’re carrying what your system is protecting you from what your values and desires actually are what the next step needs to be Clarity grows as your nervous system gains capacity.
How quickly will I feel better? Many clients feel shifts within the first session: more breath, more ease, a bit more space inside themselves. But long-term change happens through gentle repetition, not force. The 6-session container is designed to move your system from: ❌ chronic overwhelm to ✔ predictability ✔ safety ✔ capacity ✔ choice This is how anxiety unwinds at its root.
What if I'm scared to book? That fear is part of the anxiety pattern, and a sign that your system is protecting you from stepping into something new. Nothing is wrong. Nothing is unusual. You don’t need to be unafraid to begin. You just need to be willing. Often, booking the call is the first moment where your system learns: “Oh… maybe change is possible.”
What happens in the first session? Session 1 focuses on: understanding your system identifying your protectors establishing safety creating your Inner Sanctuary giving you immediate tools for ease You leave feeling lighter, clearer, and supported, not overwhelmed.
