Empower your body and mind for conception and birth

Whether you are preparing for childbirth or navigating fertility challenges, hypnotherapy can help you tap into your body’s natural wisdom. By reducing stress and fostering a deep mind-body connection, hypnotherapy can enhance fertility and create a calm, positive birthing experience.

Are you experiencing:

  • Fear or anxiety about childbirth?

  • Challenges with conception or unexplained infertility?

  • Emotional distress from previous pregnancy loss or birth trauma?

  • Difficulty trusting your body’s natural ability?

How hypnotherapy can help

Through deep relaxation and positive suggestion, hypnotherapy helps reduce stress hormones, balance emotions, and cultivate confidence in your body’s capabilities.

This process can improve fertility outcomes and create a smoother, more empowering birth experience.

If your goal is to have a natural childbirth, without medical intervention, trusting the wisdom of your body, hypnobirthing may be right for you.

I used hypnobirthing with all three of my babies and experienced relaxed, fast, intervention-free births and quick recoveries. I chose hypnobirthing because I dislike needles and didn't want an epidural or IV, and what I also got was a deep trust in my ability to calm and quiet my mind, and subsequently my body. This has become a foundation for how I approach life, and I am so grateful for my birth experiences.

Understanding the Fear-Tension-Pain Theory:

The Fear-Tension-Pain theory explains that fear during childbirth leads to physical tension and reduced blood-flow to the uterus, which in turn causes pain. This cycle can slow labour and make contractions more uncomfortable.

Hypnotherapy helps break this cycle by promoting deep relaxation and a sense of safety, allowing the body to release tension and the cervix to open naturally, easily and more quickly.

When the body is calm, endorphins—nature’s pain relievers—flow more freely, reducing discomfort and supporting a smoother birth experience.

What the numbers say:

Hypnobirthing and Childbirth:

  • Reduced Pain and Fear: A study found that women who underwent hypnobirthing training reported lower levels of pain and fear during childbirth. They also experienced increased calmness, relaxation, and a greater sense of control. (Source: PubMed)

  • Lower Intervention Rates: Research indicates that the hypnobirthing group had significantly lower rates of birth interventions and shorter delivery periods compared to the routine care group. Additionally, vaginal delivery rates were higher among those who practiced hypnobirthing. (Source: PubMed)

  • Reduced Use of Epidurals: Approximately 77% of HypnoBirthing parents who birthed vaginally did so without epidural anaesthesia, suggesting a decreased reliance on pain medication. (Source: Hypnobirthing Institute)

Hypnotherapy and Fertility:

  • Increased IVF Success Rates: An Israeli study involving 185 women undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) found that 28% of those who were hypnotized during embryo transfer became pregnant, compared to 14% in the control group, effectively doubling the success rate. (Source: PubMed

  • Higher Pregnancy Rates: Another study reported that women who received hypnosis before and during IVF embryo implantation achieved a 53.1% pregnancy rate, with an implantation rate of 28%. In contrast, the control group had a 30.2% pregnancy rate and a 14.4% implantation rate. (Source: PubMed)

  • Overall Success in Infertility Treatment: A study involving 554 couples with unexplained infertility found that psychotherapeutic intervention with hypnosis resulted in a 71.67% success rate in terms of achieving pregnancy. (Source: PubMed)
